Publications About Ceph

Ceph began as research at the Storage Systems Research Centre at the University of California, Santa Cruz, funded by a grant from Lawrence Livermore, Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.

Following the original publication on Ceph, the PhD thesis by Sage Weil, a variety of publications about scalable storage systems have been published.

The following publications are directly related to the current design of Ceph.

The following papers describe aspects of subsystems of Ceph that have not yet been fully designed or integrated.

Prior research

  • Disk Infant Mortality in Large Storage Systems
    • Qin Xin, Thomas Schwarz, Ethan L. Miller
    • Proceedings of the 13th International Symposium on Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (MASCOTS ’05)
    • September 2005

This is a partial selection. A complete list of publications for the project is available on the SSRC Ceph project web site.
